Give me chai everything. As I was making my morning cup of masala chai I spontaneously decided to add the same spice mix to my porridge as well. And it worked so well. Of course it did. And you know what's even better than a bowl of chai spiced porridge? A bowl of chai spiced porridge with cinnamon apples on top! It will definitely warm you up. I'm feeling cozy just by looking at this photo!

Description
Spontaneously decided to add my masala chai spice mix to my morning porridge bowl and it worked beautifully.
Ingredients
- 1 and 1/2 cup gluten free oats
- 2 and and 1/2 cup almond milk
- 1 very ripe banana (mashed)
- 1 green cardamom pod
- 1/3 tsp cinnamon powder
- 4 black pepper corns
- 1/8 tsp nutmeg powder
- 1/4 tsp ginger powder
- 3 cloves
- for stewed apples:
- 2 apples (I used gala cut in small cubes)
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- 1 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
- dash of turmeric
- splash of water
Instructions
- Combine all porridge ingredients in a sauce pan, add all spices and cook on a low light for 7-10 minutes. Add a bit more milk or water if too thick.
- To make stewed apples just cook apples cut in cubes in another sauce pan for 5-7 minutes.
- I also added a bit of cinnamon granola, chopped nuts, roasted almond butter and banana slices.
