    Non-alcoholic mulled wine - easy vegan winter warmer recipe

    Cosy up with a glass of warming non-alcoholic mulled wine this winter season. This mulled "wine" drink is 100% alcohol-free as it's made from a blend of grape and pomegranate juice. Perfect for drivers, children and my fellow vegan weirdo friends who chose not to drink alcohol. This mulled wine winter warmer is flavoured with vanilla essence and clementine zest. It's spiced to perfection with warming and fragrant spices such as cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and star anise. I can't imagine the Christmas season without it.

    Description

    Ingredients

    Scale
    • 8 cloves
    • 3 star anise
    • an inch piece of ginger
    • 2 pieces of cassia (cinnamon bark)
    • 1 orange sliced
    • 1 tsp vanilla essence
    • zest of one clementine (freshly gratef)
    • 2 cups pomegranate juice
    • 2 cups grape juice

    Instructions

    1. Add pomegranate and grape juice, orange slices, cloves, cinnamon, star anise, grated clementine zest and finely chopped ginger to a large saucepan. Stir briefly to combine.
    2. Bring to boil and then reduce heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for at least 10-15 minutes. Strain and serve hot.
